The Rolling Stones and Universal Music Group (UMG) on Sunday announced an extension of their decade long deal to cover the band's global merchandising and brand management, recorded music and audio-visual catalogs and archival support.
The association between the rock band and Universal Music Group dates back to the year 2008.
As a part of the renewed agreement, UMG will continue with distribution of the band's catalog on global platforms. The band's future projects and reissues will be released by UMG labels around the globe, confirmed The Hollywood Reporter.
UMG's brand management and merchandising arms, Bravado, will look after the e-commerce, merchandising and merchandising for the band, including the Rolling Stone's tongue logo.
UMG chairman and CEO Lucian Grainge was ''thrilled'' to announce the deal.
"We look forward to bringing our expertise and passion to bear as we put our global organisation to work on behalf of this iconic band who continue to create music and influence culture around the world," he said.
Bravado, UMG's brand-management and merchandise company, will handle global merchandising rights, retail licensing, brand management and e-commerce on behalf of the band, including their iconic tongue logo.
New avenues for the band, in terms of collaboration in the fields of arts, fashion, sports etc, will also be looked into by UMG's Bravado.
