Tiger Woods' former caddie Steve Williams has not only criticised the way the golfer had handled his infidelity scandal, but also revealed that he was sometimes treated as his slave.

In his book 'Out of the Rough,' the 51-year-old caddie has described American golfer's anger at being "hung out to dry" when his infidelities were revealed back in 2009, News.com.au reports.

Williams, who caddied for Woods for 13 years, said that the fact he was linked to Woods' marital infidelity when, in fact, he knew nothing about it, upset him the most.

He added "people in my local community would front up to me at the shops and call me a liar to my face and ask 'what are you doing with him."

Williams said that he asked the golfer's management to release a statement that would clear his involvement in the scandal.
