External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj has said that the BRICS nations can collectively begin an international economic revival.
"Together we can script a new global economic revival," Swaraj said at BRICS Industry Ministers meet in Moscow.
"In an environment where global growth is modest, BRICS countries could become the engines of global growth," she added.
Swaraj said that there were synergies between the BRICS countries that need to be harnessed.
"BRICS countries have played an increasingly important role on the global arena over the last decade," she said.
The External Affairs Minister met her Turkmen counterpart Rashid Meredov during refuelling halt in Ashgabat.
"Transit diplomacy! EAM @SushmaSwaraj meets Turkmenistan DPM & FM Rashid Meredov during refuelling halt in Ashgabat," tweeted MEA official spokesperson Vikas Swarup.
