A report has claimed that President Barack Obama was turned down at several top golf courses in Westchester while he was visiting the area over Labor Day weekend.

Several golf courses including, the Trump National Golf Club, the Winged Foot and Willow Ridge rejected the President's request because they did not want to inconvenience their high-powered and high-paying members over Labor Day weekend by shutting down their courses to accommodate Obama, reported NBC New York.

The President was in Westchester on August 29 to attend fundraising events in New York and Rhode Island.

The report quoted sources as saying that the White House advance team had given the clubs a day or two notice to accommodate the President on Saturday morning in New York. Labor Day weekend is one of the busiest times of year for golf courses.

While political analyst, Dan Gerstein read the incident as deterioration in Obama's "star quality" by saying that there was a time when the President would never have been turned down, some club officials downplayed the incident by saying that he is not the first head of state who had been rejected by golf clubs on Labor Day weekend. They added that the King of Morocco also failed to secure a tee time at some of the same courses that Labor Day weekend.
