A top Syrian rebel leader has died after succumbing to injuries that he sustained during a government air strike last week, the group confirmed.
The founder of the Tawhid Brigade, Abdul-Qadir Saleh, died overnight, the Independent reports.
Saleh's death has dealt another blow to fighters of the brigade, which united a number of groups fighting the Bashar al-Assad forces in the north.
The brigade was formed in July 2012 and remains one of the main rebel forces in Aleppo with an estimated 8,000 to 10,000 fighters.
It is part of an alliance of Islamist groups, which mostly recognise the Free Syrian Army's military council, the report added.
