A 23-year-old trainee woman constable committed suicide by hanging herself at the RBVRR Telangana Police Academy on Saturday night.
According to the Station House Officer (SHO) of the Narsinghi Police Station, the trainee constable, Naveena, took the drastic step following the suicide of her close friend Madhavi, who worked as a constable at the Vemulapalli Police Station of the Nalgonda district.
After receiving the information of her friend's suicide, Naveena had admitted to feeling depressed. Thereafter, she went into her room and told her colleagues she wanted to take rest.
She was later found hanging in her room.
The SHO informed that the body was shifted to the local government for autopsy, and a case was registered under Section 174 of the CrPC. Further probe is underway.
