Police has revealed that the trophies, won by Red Bull, that had been stolen from the team's Formula One factory in Milton Keynes have been found in a lake.

Around 20 trophies have been retrieved of the 60 taken when thieves broke in the factory earlier this month, using a vehicle to drive through the front entrance.

The silverware was spotted by a member of the public near the town of Sandhurst, around 95km from Milton Keynes, Sport24 reported.

Thames Valley Police detective constable Chris Oakman said that they estimate about 20 trophies have been recovered but they are liaising with Red Bull to establish the exact number as some of the trophies are damaged.

Team principal Christian Horner said at the time that he was puzzled why anyone would want to steal items that had low intrinsic values.

Six men used a 4x4 to gain access to the Milton Keynes factory in Bradbourne Drive in Tilbrook. They stole around 60 trophies, which according to Horner had low intrinsic values as many of them were replicas, but still held an extraordinarily high value for the team due to the hard work and effort that went into bagging each one of them.
