In response to Meryl Streep's Golden Globes acceptance speech, President-elect Donald Trump has called her a 'Hillary lover' adding he was 'not surprised' that he was being criticized by 'liberal movie people'.
According to media reports, Trump said, "I was never mocking anyone. I was calling into question a reporter who had gotten nervous because he had changed his story."
"People keep saying I intended to mock the reporter's disability, as if Meryl Streep and others could read my mind, and I did no such thing," he said and added, "And remember, Meryl Streep introduced Hillary Clinton at her convention, and a lot of these people supported Hillary."
The incident Streep was referring to occurrred in November 2015, when Trump callously mock-imitated Serge Kovaleski, a New York Times reporter who suffers from the congenital condition arthrogryposis, at one of his political rallies.
