Twitter CEO Dick Costolo finally has a verified account, five years after joining the company.
The change appears to have happened very recently, judging by the list of accounts followed by the verified account.
As a general rule, employees at Twitter do not have verified accounts. In fact, those who previously had verified accounts actually lose the blue check mark once they join Twitter, The Mashable reported.
However, it's unclear what prompted the change to Costolo's account.
Meanwhile, Twitter cofounders Jack Dorsey, Ev Williams and Biz Stone each have verified accounts, though that may be because they no longer work at the company.
