Two people were arrested on Friday for killing Police Constable Balmukund Prajapati in Chhatarpur district of Madhya Pradesh.
Prajapati was shot dead under Kotwali police station limits on Thursday night and his body was found on Friday morning.
DIG, Chhatarpur Range described the crime scene to the media and identified the accused as Nitin Kushwaha and Nikhil Dwivedi.
"Our police teams had received inputs on the night of crime that some miscreants are wandering with a country-made pistol with a quest to shoot someone. Police teams were sent from different directions in the area. The team of Constable Balmukund Prajapati got there first and he very bravely grabbed the shirt of a miscreant from behind. The collar of the t-shirt came into his hand but the criminal ran away. He was chasing the two criminals when they shot him in Parwari Mohalla area," the DIG said.
