The British Deputy High Commission in Chandigarh and PEC University of Technology organised a two day interactive workshop on "Technology Business Incubators" (TBI) for exchanging best practices on the topic between India and the UK.
Over the two days, topics such as entrepreneurship, working in partnerships, space management, coaching and mentoring as well as access to finance were discussed. UK experts discussed with Indian stakeholders how to develop and grow incubators in order to position them as the catalyst for the Indian Start Up scene.
The workshop was delivered by Martin Garratt, CEO Cambridge Cleantech and Kartik Durgaprasad, Senior International Development Officer at Basildon Borough Council, Essex.
The workshop was inaugurated by Mr. David Lelliott, British Deputy High Commissioner Chandigarh.
Speaking at the event, he said "The UK is pleased to have organised this workshop. We are committed to continuing to work to support the economic development of Chandigarh, Punjab and Haryana"
Mr. Anurag Agarwal, Home Secretary, Chandigarh Administration, Mr. B Purushartha, Municipal Commissioner, Chandigarh and Mr. Alok Ramsisaria, Vice President, TiE Chandigarh Chapter attended the valedictory ceremony today.
The workshop was attended by members of academia, business and government officials.
