Two jawans succumbed to their injuries on Friday after an encounter between the police force and Naxals near Mitrur area in Chhattisgarh's Bijapur.
Two more jawans were reported to be seriously injured in the exchange of firing.
Earlier in February, seven Naxals, including three women, were killed in an encounter with the police force in Narayanpur district of Chhattisgarh.
"Many Naxals have been killed in the encounter; seven dead bodies, two rifles, and many weapons and other things have been recovered. Based on a tip off Narayanpur district's DRG and its forces were sent. This is a big success. The forces have gone in the dangerous areas and completed their task. Since 2016 many Naxals have been killed and many weapons have been recovered," D.M. Awasthi, a Special Director General of Police (anti-Maoist operations) had said.
