Two people, including a child, were killed when a building collapsed in Bangalore early Thursday morning.
Residents of Ulsoor region, which is one of the oldest localities in Bangalore, woke up at 1.30 am last night to a resounding crash of the building, which was weakened due to heavy rains.
Authorities rushed to the spot and two people were rescued. The collapse also brought down an adjoining house.
A resident, Geeta, said that the building was more than ten years old and was expected to fall any moment.
"When we came out and saw, it was too dusty and the debris had fallen and all and that is a very old building, more than ten years. It was supposed to fall down anytime. But BBMP (civic agency, Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike) has not taken any action nor has the public taken any action," said Geeta.
