Researchers have warned that Britain could soon run out of chickens owing to the ever-expanding global demand and low supply.

The British Poultry Council has revealed that there are just not enough chicken farms in Britain to feed the soaring demand, the Daily Star reported.

Chief executive Andrew Large explained to a UK publication that poultry houses are not being built because planning permission by the government has been denied or developers have given up after being forced to wait so long.

According to data reports, over two million chickens are consumed in the UK every single day.
