A military transport aircraft in Eastern Ukraine has been fired amidst the ongoing unrest with Russian separatists, Ukrainian officials have claimed.
According to reports, the plane was fired at from Russia by a powerful missile.
However, the Russian Government has remained silent on this reported development.
The aircraft crew has reportedly survived.
According to the BBC, a NATO official said that there had been an increase in Russian troops.
Russia has denied supporting separatists in the East and called on officials of Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) to observe the border situation.
More than 1,000 civilians were said to have died in the violence between the two sides since Russia conquered Crimea in March.
