Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has announced the implementation of the 7th pay commission recommendation for the employees of all Urban Local Bodies (ULB) retrospectively from April 1, 2016.
The Municipal staff will receive the revised salary as per the 7th pay commission with retrospective effect from April 1, 2016, said a release issued by the Odisha Chief Minister's Office (CMO).
However, ULB's are required to meet the additional expenses from their own revenue. Earlier, the state government had announced a 3 per cent hike in Dearness Allowance (DA) for employees and pensioners which came into effect retrospectively from January 1 this year.
