Pakistan's young middle-order batsman Umar Akmal has claimed that it is unfair to compare him with Virat Kohli because the Indian batting star bats higher up the order.
Akmal claimed that it is always his effort to deliver 100 percent for the team and Pakistan but added that he knows people compare him to Kohli which is not right because the Indian batsman bats higher up the order.
Akmal insisted that he should not be compared to Kohli because if the Indian came in to bat at six or seven and performed than he would understand and accept the comparisons, adding that if he gets a chance to bat higher up he believes he can perform better than what he does and get big innings, The Dawn reported.
The right-handed batsman pointed out that one must keep in mind that he mostly comes in to bat at number five, six or seven.
Akmal claimed that he has not discussed his desire to bat at number three or four with the team management, because they haven't watched him play domestic cricket back home.
Akmal claimed that the management hasn't seen him bat at number three in domestic first-class cricket, adding that that is where he bats most of the time. He said that he can only say they would soon trust him and allow him to bat higher up the order where he feels more comfortable.
