UN appeals for $415m earthquake aid for disaster stricken Nepal

The United Nations recently appealed for 415 million dollars for Nepal, stating it urgently needs more funds to provide relief to people affected by the devastating earthquake.

Survivors in some of rural areas said that they were angry because neither food nor medicine has reached them yet, the BBC reported.

UN officials stated that quake killed more than 5,500 people, and injured at least 11,000. While, more than eight million people have been affected by the 7.8-magnitude quake and some 70,000 houses have been destroyed.

The government also mentioned that it has been overwhelmed by the disaster.
