The chief executive of the under fire taxi-hailing service Uber has reportedly announced his plan to make 2015 a year of rapid expansion in Europe.
While addressing a press conference in Munich, Travis Kalanick said that Uber's "new partnership" with European cities could create 50,000 jobs, reported the BBC.
Uber, which was established four years ago and now operates in 250 cities worldwide, has received flak from regulators and established taxi operators across the globe for failing to abide by rules and regulations. It has also been hit with court injunctions in Belgium, France, Germany, the Netherlands and Spain.
In the backdrop of the recent developments, Kalanick's comments are being seen as an attempt to build bridges with critics.
