Unknown Gunmen shots down Ghani's Security Guard in Afghanistan

The Security Guard of Afghanistan President Ashraf Ghani was shot dead by unknown gunmen in Nangarhar province.

The incident took place around 2:00am local time in Behsood district of Nangarhar province after 12 gunmen entered the house of Islahuddin, Ghani's security guard and shot him, reported TOLO News.

Islahuddin mother was also injured in the shooting and was taken to hospital for treatment.

No one so far has been arrested in connection with the incident but police have started investigations.

Meanwhile, a relative of Islahuddin said on condition of anonymity that the gunmen were wearing local security forces uniforms and added that the 'condition of his mother is not good.'

No group so far claimed responsibility for the incident.
