Gene Wilder, who regularly stole the show with his comedic gems like 'The Producers,' 'Young Frankenstein,' 'Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory' and more, died on August 29 at his home in Stamford, Connecticut.

Bollywood Badshah Shah Rukh Khan took to his Twitter handle to share a heartfelt message on this loss to the Global-film.

"My quiet exterior used to be a mask for hysteria." RIP Gene Wilder. My growing up inspiration. Ur tender yet 'wilder' eyes will be missed," he wrote.

Other than SRK, Rishi Kapoor and 'Chennai Express' fame Nikitin Dheer too tweeted their respects to the comedy legend.

"RIP. Gene Wilder. Woman in Red,Willy Wonka,Blazing Saddles,Stir Crazy,Silver Streak........you really made me laugh!" wrote Kapoor.

"RIP Legend "What is important, is invisible to the eye." - Gene Wilder," tweeted Nikitin.

As per a Variety report, Wilder's nephew Jordan Walker-Pearlman said that he died, at the age of 83, of complications from Alzheimer's disease.

Walker-Pearlman, describing the incredible actor's final moments, said, "He was eighty-three and passed holding our hands with the same tenderness and love he exhibited as long as I can remember. As our hands clutched and he performed one last breath the music speaker, which was set to random, began to blare out one of his favorites: Ella Fitzgerald. There is a picture of he and Ella meeting at a London Bistro some years ago that are among each or cherished possessions. She was singing "Somewhere Over The Rainbow," as he was taken away.
