United States Congressman Pete Sessions said here on Sunday that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will prove to be the next Ronald Reagan as he knows how to get things done.
"I think it's important to remember that this new Prime Minister Narendra Modi will become the next Ronald Regan for the world. He is an exciting man with a clear vision and he knows how to get things done," said Sessions.
"The new Prime Minister has a vision not just for all the people of India but for the United States of America as well, the United States Congress is looking forward to not only a great relationship with Prime Minister Modi but also the Indian people," said Sessions, who represents Texas's 32nd congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives.
Talking about attempts to encourage trade between America and India, he said, "We will work to increase trade, lower poverty and increase people's ability to take care of themselves without government reliance."
Sessions is a member of the Republican Party and is the current chairman of the House Rules Committee.
Besides him, U.S Congresswoman Carolyn B. Maloney had also praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision while explaining that she had never seen any Indian leader's visit to the United States generating so much excitement among the Indian American community.
"I have never seen so much excitement in the Indian American community for a leader in India. Everyone is very positive, his message is very positive; strengthen bonds between America and India. I see even stronger future for the world's largest democracy and the world's oldest democracy." she told ANI.
