The American thoracic surgeon, who invented the Heimlich manoeuvre as a way to save people from choking, has penned his memoir.
Henry Heimlich, 94, from Ohio, hopes his autobiography will help people remember and correctly use the procedure that made his name a household word and saved many lives, News24 reported.
Heimlich's technique involves applying upward pressure on the diaphragm through thrusts to the abdomen to create an air flow that forces food or other objects out of the windpipe.
