Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has called the deadly attack on the United States mission in Benghazi, Libya, in 2012 as the 'biggest regret' of her tenure.
Clinton made the remarks at the National Auto Dealers Association convention in New Orleans, saying it was a terrible tragedy losing four Americans in the attack.
According to the New York Times, Clinton said some choices were made based on imperfect information, adding that but that doesn't mean there's not going to be unforeseen consequences, unpredictable twists and turns.
Clinton's handling of the attack in Benghazi and its aftermath remain the most contentious aspect of her tenure.
Republicans have accused the Obama administration of misleading the public about links between Al Qaeda and the Sept. 11, 2012, attack.
The attack killed four Americans, including J. Christopher Stevens, the American ambassador to Libya.
Republicans have said that security was lax at the diplomatic compound in Benghazi.
