US intelligence chief James Clapper has alleged that China is the "leading suspect" in the major hack of a US Government agency that holds millions of personal records of Americans.
According to BBC, Clapper is the highest ranking official in the US to blame China for the hack since this news of the data breach emerged.
China has so far denied all allegations that it was behind the hack.
China and the US agreed to a "code of conduct" three days back during the high-level talks.
According to Clapper's office, he said that the US Government continues to investigate the matter.
