Following talks with US Secretary of State John Kerry, Russia's foreign minister Sergei Lavrov has reportedly said that Russia and the US have "no common vision" on the crisis in Ukraine.

Calling the London meeting with his US counterpart "constructive", Lavrov said that Moscow would respect the result of Sunday's referendum in Crimea on whether to join Russia.

However, Kerry said that the US had not changed its position on the "illegitimate" referendum in Crimea and would not recognize its outcome, the BBC reported.

He said that the nation was "deeply concerned" about Russia sending its troops to the Ukraine border and in Crimea.

Kerry warned that there will be consequences if Russia did not find a way to change course and said that Russia would respect the will of the people of Crimea.
