The son of United States Vice President Joe Biden, Beau Biden, has died of brain cancer at the age of 46.
The former Delaware Attorney General, who was planning to run for state governor in 2016, was admitted to the Walter Reed Army Medical Centre, near Washington, earlier this month, reported the BBC.
The Vice President said that the entire Biden family was "saddened beyond words."
U.S. President Barack Obama said in a statement that Beau was a "good, big-hearted, devoutly Catholic and deeply faithful man," who made a difference in the lives of all he touched and added that he and his wife, Michelle, were grieving his death.
Former U.S. President Bill Clinton also said that he and his wife, Hillary, were mourning the loss of Beau, who was full of "life, love, honor, and service.
