The US-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF) on Thursday announced its partnership with the premier school in India for social sciences, Tata's Institute for Social Sciences (TISS).

The partnership will pave way for USISPF's work on inclusive development in India pertaining to issues such as healthcare, sanitation, livelihood, vocational training, financial inclusion, literacy, and nutrition.

The two parties have declared their partnership through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), which designates their work together to promote and support meaningful Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) projects emerging out of the strategic business partnerships between India and the United States.

"The Tata Institute for Social Sciences has been the premier educational institution in India for social sciences and for matters relating to Corporate Social Responsibility. USISPF could not have chosen a better partner to work with in India. We look forward to leveraging partnerships with businesses across the United States and India who are interested in investing into CSR projects in India," said president of USISPF, Dr. Mukesh Aghi.

While USISPF will help to establish alliances with companies and promote the USISPF-TISS relationship through programming such as roundtables and conferences, TISS will leverage the partnership by providing technical expertise, capacity building, research activities, and strategies for CSR projects across business partners from both countries.

"The MOU between TISS and USISPF is a wonderful opportunity to build upon our efforts of public private partnerships. USISPF, with its diverse and powerful board and company members, will help us promote issues to some of the most important companies in both the U.S. and India. These companies have the ability to promote sustainable development and lasting change in India, which will, in turn, benefit the entire world," said Chairperson of the Centre for Governance and Public Policy at TISS, Venkatesh Kumar.
