FIFA secretary general Jerome Valcke said that the organisation had to learn from delays and find different ways of working for future events as Brazil is still not ready for the World Cup, starting from June this year.

The slow advancement of attempts to boost mobility across a continent-sized nation as 6,00,000 foreign tourists are preparing to fly in ahead of the kickoff on June 12 and the late delivery of stadiums has hampered the process of readying 12 venues for the summer event.

According to Sport24, Valcke said that it is a lesson and FIFA will definitely act differently adding that they will have to find a different way of working for future events, starting with Russia in 2018.

Valcke also said that FIFA is late and are facing difficulties and risks right up to the last minute because they have still got to check the installations adding that they need time to test them.

However, the FIFA secretary said that although there is work to do with little time left, they would have 12 host cities and 12 stadiums before the tournament starts.

Three stadiums are yet to be completed and there are concerns over who will pay the bill for temporary facilities, as neither local authorities nor stadium owners want to pay, the report added.
