UEFA president Michel Platini has said that he is the only person who can beat Sepp Blatter in an election for FIFA president.
However, Platini has not yet officially said if he would stand in the FIFA elections to be held the next year.
According to Sport24, Platini informed the UEFA Congress that he would have more meetings with European football leaders in coming months before announcing whether he would stand for FIFA.
Platini said that he would give his answer after the FIFA World Cup this year after he has had a series of meetings with the European federation officials adding that he feels that maybe 99 percent of the officials would prefer him to stay at UEFA.
Meanwhile, Blatter has not officially announced whether he will stand for a new term, but speculations are rife that he will announce his candidacy around the FIFA World Cup finals this year, the report added.
