Van Gaal slams Man U for snatching defeat from jaws of victory against Leicester

Manchester United football team manger Louis van Gaal has slammed his side for throwing away a victory as Leicester City crushed them 5-3 after coming back from a two goal deficit.

Leicester came back from 3-1 down against United, with just 30 minutes remaining, to record a stunning 5-3 victory against a weakly defending side in their Premier League clash.

United were on course for a win when Robin van Persie put them ahead in the 13th minute with a header and followed by a magical midfielder Angel Di Maria's chip three minutes later.

Leonardo Ulloa's header just a minute after Di Maria's goal reduced the deficit to 2-1 before Ander Herrera's back heel extended United's lead to 3-1, The BBC reported.

However, Leicester hit back through a David Nugent penalty in the 62nd minute followed by Esteban Cambiasso's equaliser just two minutes later. Then Jamie Vardy helped Leicester took the lead, with Ulloa secured the win for his side with a penalty.

United manager Louis van Gaal will reportedly need to urgently address his team's defensive issues after their second-half capitulation, but he may have to do without both Tyler Blackett and Jonny Evans for their next game, against West Ham United.

Van Gaal said that United didn't keep ball possession in the right way, adding that Leicester has already showed against Arsenal and Stoke that they can come back and they did it very well.

Van Gaal said that United started their last match against Queens Park Rangers very good with a new team, new players and then they played very well against Leicester, but they gave the game away.

The Dutchman said that Leicester had five shots on goal, and that was it, adding that these five goals were existing because they made errors in ball possession.

This is the first time Leicester City have scored four or more goals against United in the league since April 1963 and only the 14th time in Premier League history that United have conceded four or more goals in a game.
