At least 12 people were injured in an AC compressor pipe blast that took place in Sir Sunder Lal Hospital in Banaras Hindu University on Saturday.
According to reports, the blast took place at around 1.05 p.m. at the emergency ward.
The fire brigade was called immediately, though there was no incident of fire outbreak.
Soon after the blast, hundreds of people gathered outside the building.
The injured persons are out of danger. While eight persons are being treated in the emergency, four others injured are at the trauma centre of BHU.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also inquired about the condition the injured.
Announcing financial relief to four persons being treated at the trauma centre, the Prime minister wished all the injured a speedy recovery.
