Former skipper and commentator Michael Vaughan has said that England should bring Gary Kirsten as coach if they want the best guy in the business.

Writing in his column for London's Daily Telegraph, he said the ECB will be stretching its web high and wide to get the right coach, and added that Ashley Giles should be given the first opportunity to stake his claim.

He further said he would also get Paul Collingwood into the fold as soon as possible, as he has too good a cricket brain to allow it to be put to service by someone else.

But if England wants to get the best, Vaughan said that Kirsten should be given a contract to be at helms through the next World Cup, up to the end of the Ashes in 2015.

Highlighting the achievements of Kirsten as coach with India and South Africa, he said surround him with young English talent: Giles, Collingwood and Graham Thorpe for the best result.

Vaughan wants the next coach to be allowed to choose whoever he wants, and added that it must be the new man's decision who he wants as his captain.
