Joint Commissioner of Police B.V. Ramana Kumar on Sunday felicitated constable Srinivasulu for saving a woman attempting suicide in Andhra Pradesh's Vijayawada.
"The woman jumped into a river and tried to commit suicide as she asked her husband to come for a movie, but he refused due to work. Our constable Srinivasaulu swam across the river and saved her life. We rewarded him and counselled the woman and her husband," B.V. Ramana Kumar told ANI.
Tirupatamma married Reddy four months ago.
Tirupatamma reportedly had immediately jumped into the Ryves Canal at Dharna Chowk and saved the woman from drowning.
