Vin Diesel to star as tree alien Groot in 'Guardians Of The Galaxy'

Vin Diesel has revealed that he will be playing the role of the giant tree-controlling, word-absorbing alien, Groot, in the new 'Guardians Of The Galaxy' film.

The 'Fast And Furious' star confirmed the news by posting a snap of himself hugging a life-size model of the Marvel character on Facebook, Metro.co.uk reported.

The 46-year-old actor will be joining Chris Pratt, Bradley Cooper, Zoe Saldana, Karen Gillan, Benicio del Toro and John C Reilly in the film, which will hit theatres in 2014.
