Viv Richards offers himself up for Pak coaching role

Former West Indies skipper Sir Vivian Richards has expressed his desire to coach the Pakistan cricket team, saying that he will definitely give it a shot if he would be given an offer by the country' cricket board.

The 63-year-old, who is currently mentoring Quetta Gladiators in the ongoing Pakistan Super League, admitted that he would never decline an opportunity to coach the 1992 World Cup champions, insisting that he still has a lot to offer towards the game, the Express Tribune reported.

Richards, however, described current head coach Waqar Younis as a legend and said that the former pace spearhead has been doing a magnificent job for the team.

Reflecting his views on Pakistan's inability to host international cricket due to security concerns, Richards maintained that the West Indies team would always be ready to tour the side.

Richards, who represented West Indies in 121 Tests, stressed that Pakistan had provided some magnificent cricketers to the world and expressed hope in seeing quick improvement in the country's present condition.
