Brisk polling is taking place in all states that have gone to polls on Thursday.
Polling officials are reportedly hopeful that the voting percentage will cross previous election records.
In Rajasthan, where elections are being held for 20 of the 25 Lok Sabha seats, at least 26 per cent voting was recorded till noon. While in Bihar, about 22.36 percent voting has been reported till 11 a.m. in seven Lok Sabha constituencies. In 11 constituencies of Uttar Pradesh, the polling percentage till 11 a.m. was pegged at 25 per cent. A maximum 28.25 percent voters have exercised their franchise in Nagina constituency followed by 26.20 percent in Moradabad seat.
In West Bengal, about 45 percent polling was recorded in four parliamentary constituencies of Darjeeling, Jalpaigudi, Coochbehar and Alipurdur in the first five hours of polling.
On the other hand in Karnataka, an average 22 percent polling was recorded till noon in the 28 lok Sabha seats in the state. Polling was delayed at a few booths due to EVM problem.
In Odisha, an average of 15 per cent polling was recorded by 10 this morning in the second and last phase of polling in 11 Lok Sabha and 77 Assembly constituencies.
A maximum of 19 per cent polling was reported in Angul District, while a minimum of seven per cent was recorded in Khordha District.
In Manipur, ten per cent polling was recorded in the Inner Manipur Parliamentary seat in the first two hours of polling.
In Madhya Pradesh, peaceful polling is on in ten parliamentary constituencies of Bhind, Morena, Gwalior, Guna, Rajgarh, Bhopal, Sagar, Damoh, Tikamgarh and Khajuraho. About 11.46 per cent turnout was recorded in these segments till 10.30 am. Maximum 20.72 percent of polling was recorded in Bhopal segment while Bhind recorded the minimum poll percentage of 2.33.
