Congress Party leader Digvijaya Singh on Monday indicated that the Vyapam Scam was just the tip of the 'corruption' iceberg rampant under the watch of Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.

"I am happy that at least media has understood, till now they were not ready to listen to it. I am thankful that Hindi channels have taken it up. I will reveal some more pertaining to this scam within next few days. What you are seeing is just a tip of an iceberg. Union Water Resources Minister Uma Bharti had herself said that this scam is even bigger than the fodder scam. Now you see even her name is also surfacing , this is nothing but a ploy by the Chouhan Government to save its skin by keeping her name as a shield. Uma Bharti had demanded a CBI probe, then why has not the government paid heed to it," Singh said.

"There are numerous irregularities surfacing that ranges from recruiting sub-inspectors, transport constables, now complaints of irregularities are coming from Public Service Commision and therefore that also should come under the lens of probe," he added.

"All the recruitment happened under the duo of Sudhir Sharma and Laxmikant Sharma's tenure must all be probed," he further added.

When asked on the issue of the chief minister's wife Sadhna Singh's name also coming into the picture related to the Vyapam scam, and whether Chouhan should take moral responsibilty because of it, the Congress leader quipped, "You should never have any expectations of morality from Chouhan you should never ask such things from him."

The recruitment scam had reportedly involved manipulation in the selection process for government jobs conducted by the Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board (MPPEB).

A Special Task Force has been constituted for an investigation into the Vyapam scam which had detained Laxmikant Sharma, a former state technical education minister, for interrogation.

Congress leader K. K. Mishra, who had levelled allegations of Union Minister Uma Bharti being involved, asked Chief Minister Chouhan to order a probe in the multi-crore Vyapam Scam and also alleged the involvement of a powerful person in this case.

The high profile teacher's recruitment scam in Madhya Pradesh is being linked to Chief Minister Chouhan's wife, Sadhna Singh.
