The Congress party on Monday expressed surprise over the statement of Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on the Vyapam scam and demanded a CBI inquiry into the matter under the supervision of the Supreme Court.
"It is surprising that Rajnath Singh, in spite of the death of so many people, is saying that there is no need of a CBI enquiry. It is unfortunate when our Home Minister is saying such a statement. I don't think this is a good response," Congress spokesperson Shakeel Ahmad said.
We want a CBI inquiry under the supervision of Supreme Court. We are surprised by the statement of Rajnath Singh," he added.
