The world has witnessed numerous instances where an artist has been discriminated on the basis of his religion. Voicing out his stand on the issue, Nawazuddin Siddiqui recently shared a video that explains what his true "religion" is.
In the video, the 'Gangs of Wasseypur' star is seen showing a series of placards, a format that Gurmehar Kaur, daughter of a martyr killed in action, used in her viral video.
Through the placards, the actor announced that he got his "DNA tested."
Turns out that Nawaz is '16.66 percent Muslim,' '16.66% Hindu,' 16.66% Christian,' '16.66% Sikh,' '16.66% Buddhist' and '16.66% other religions' - all adding up to '100% artist.'
The actor's post comes days after Sonu Nigam became the target of religious leaders when he tweeted against the use of loudspeakers in places of worship.
On the professional front, Nawazuddin will next be seen playing the titular character of 'Manto', directed by Nandita Das.
