After Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) summoned Sheila Dikshit in connection with the water meter scam, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday sought a clarification from the former chief minister and demanded a through probe into the matter.

Asserting that his party was always sure of Dikshit's involvement in the Rs. 400-crore scam, BJP leader R.P. Singh said, "We have been saying throughout that she is involved. They need to answer on it now. Sheila Dikshit should speak up and clarify her stand. A proper probe should be done in this scam."

The ACB on Wednesday issued notice to Dikshit, asking her to join the investigation into the case.

The notice states: "It appears that you (Sheila Dikshit) are acquainted with facts and circumstances of case and is required to join investigation."

"We are probing the matter. The concerned officers have been issued notice and Sheila Dikshit ji has also been issued a notice in this regard," ACB chief M.K. Meena told the media here.

Meena said the case was registered in 2014 in the Anti Corruption Branch, adding that the Delhi Jal Board had bought 2.5 lakh water metres and there are allegations that there was no proper tendering and tender conditions were changed so that the personal companies are benefitted.
