Shane Watson smacked an unbeaten century as Rajasthan Royals set a mammoth target of 200 for Kolkata Knight Riders in their Indian Premier League (IPL) tie at Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai on Saturday.
Opting to bat first, Rajasthan Royals got off to a flying start as openers Ajinkya Rahane and Shane Watson built a brisk 80-run partnership. Rahane scored 37 before he got run out in a bizarre mix-up.
Although all-rounder Andre Russell scalped three wickets in quick succession by removing Rajasthan Royals skipper Steven Smith (14), Sanju Samson (8) and James Faulkner (6), Watson kept on hitting meaty blows to help his side post a daunting 199 runs in their allotted 20 overs. Watson made an unbeaten 104, including nine fours and five sixes, and was significantly supported by Karun Nair (16).
Rajasthan Royals face a must-win situation tonight after squandering their chances for a spot in the play-offs by losing some crucial matches.
