Bollywood actor Salman Khan's fans travelled from as far away as Karnataka to gather outside his Galaxy Apartments residence in Bandra to express their solidarity with the 'Dabangg' star.
Salman, convicted in the 2002 hit-and-run case, is currently awaiting the possible grant of bail by the Bombay High Court.
At the same time, Sallu fans have taken Twitter by storm, sending in their best wishes by accompanying each tweet with the hastag '#WeLoveSalmanKhan'.
Those not on social networking sites are going old school. Special prayers are being offered for the actor in Varanasi.
"The people of the country shall accept with full respect the final verdict on the hit-and-run case. But, as of now, Salman Khan's fans are offering our prayers to Mata Sitala Devi so that the Bombay High
Court accepts his bail application," said Pandit Rajan Trivedi.
Meanwhile, homeless people are protesting outside the high court where Salman Khan's hearing is ongoing.
The court will reportedly be under tight security until the final verdict is announced. Salman's family members are also expected to be present for the final verdict.
On Wednesday, a Mumbai Sessions Court found Salman guilty of culpable homicide and sentenced him to five years imprisonment in connection with the 2002 hit-and-run case, where he ran over a homeless person and injured four others.
However, the Bombay High Court granted him a two-day interim bail for the same. Salman's lawyers are currently pleading for the actor's bail in court.
