Wenger calls Bale's 'world-record' 105 million pound Madrid transfer 'a joke'

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has said that Welsh striker Gareth Bale's 105 million pound move to Real Madrid will make a mockery of UEFA's Financial Fair Play regulations, as the Spanish giants prepare to make signings worth more than 150 million pounds this summer.

According to the Mirror, Bale will be offered 180,000 pounds a week, making him Real's second highest paid player behind Cristiano Ronaldo, and the club are looking for special sponsors to help fund the total cost of the deal.

Wenger said that the proposed move made a joke of the FFP regulations and he found it amazing that in the year that FFP came in world football, there were such crazy things happening.

Although the Welshman plays for Arsenal's deadliest rivals, Wenger feels Bale joining Real will be a huge loss for the Premier League, the report said.
