Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has leapt to the defence of Jose Mourinho, insisting that his rival's struggling Chelsea side will not be relegated from the Premier League.
Mourinho has come under severe pressure after his side suffered a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Leicester City, which left the defending champions one point above the relegation zone. The defeat was their ninth in last 16 matches.
Wenger, whose Arsenal are second in the league table, said that Chelsea were not in a relegation battle despite going through a difficult spell as they are a quality side, goal.com reported.
Chelsea will next face Sunderland at Stamford Bridge on Saturday and a defeat will see them drop into the relegation zone at Christmas.
