West Indies have set India a stiff 322-run target in the first one day international (ODI) of the ongoing five-match series.
Riding high on the 165 runs partnership between Marlon Samuels, who remained not out on 126, and Denesh Ramdin's 61, the Caribbean team, in their allotted 50 overs, scored 321 runs at a loss of six wickets.
Losing the toss to India and invited to bat first, the West Indies was slow to pick up runs and openers Darren Bravo and Dwayne Smith lost their wickets when their team were below the three figure mark.
Among India's bowlers, Amit Mishra and Ravindra Jadeja picked off the West Indies openers, with Mohammed Shami bagging four wickets. Bhuvneshwar Kumar, returning with figures of 0-38 in his allotted ten overs the most economical bowler for the team in blue.
