English golf ace Lee Westwood is reportedly consulting a sports psychologist in a bid to end his Majors jinx following his loss at The Open Championship in Scotland.

According to The Sun, the Brit, who clocked up his eighth top-three finish after surrendering a two-shot lead in the final round at Muirfield, has enlisted the help of Manchester-based psychologist Ross Mackenzie.

Stating that he is leaving no stone unturned to end his agony at the Majors, Westwood said that he is now ready to see a shrink, adding that the objective is to keep finding ways to come up with that little bit extra which could mean the difference between a win or finishing in second or third place.

Meanwhile, Westwood has vowed to take inspiration from Open Championship winner Phil Mickelson even though he admitted to being 'hurt' at losing yet another chance to win a Major.

The Ryder Cup star, who is bidding to win the US PGA in Rochester, New York next month, took a two-shot lead into the last round at Muirfield before carding a closing 75, nine strokes worse than champion Mickelson and has now finished in the top five in Majors ten times without landing a title.
