Pakistan head coach Dav Whatmore has said that Pakistan will avenge their 3-0 series defeat by South Africa in February this year by laying out a 'spin trap' during the two-Test series in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) later this month.
Pakistan's fortunes suffered a further dip when they were outclassed by lowly Zimbabwe in Harare last month, a result which dropped them to sixth in the Test rankings and led critics to declare that the team had hit rock bottom.
According to The Dawn, however, Whatmore backed his team's players to avenge their South Africa defeat with the help of the spin conditions in UAE, with which they are familiar, adding that Pakistan was not prepared for the pitches and their pace and movement in South Africa.
Whatmore further said that spin tracks are one of their options, adding that they will go by their strength and have a couple of quality spinners in their side.
Whatmore, who is under increasing pressure to halt Pakistan's losing slump, also said that Pakistan's inability to host matches on home soil since the 2009 attacks on the visiting Sri Lankan team, has robbed the former Asian powerhouse of precious playing time.
