Sequoia Capital's Jim Goetz has reportedly topped Forbes' annual Midas List, which ranks the top venture capitalists by return and more.
JimGoetz, who has backed WhatsApp, is reportedly followed by Marc Andreesen at the second place and Benchmark's Peter Fenton in the third spot.
According to Tech Crunch, Andreesen had been at the second position in the list last year as well but last year's Midas List topper Accel Parnters' Jim Breyer has fallen down to the fifth position this year in the list.
Sequoia also reportedly dethroned Accel Partners for the most investors on the list and for the top overall VC firm, with nine partners on the list, earning the firm an in-depth profile.
Forbes reportedly revealed that Sequoia's XI Fund, which raised 387 million-dollars in 2013, has seen 3.6 billion-dollars in gains, and the partners in the company will collect 1.1 billion-dollars in these gains, while LPs will collect 2.5 billion-dollars.
Sequoia Venture XIII (2010) is up 88 percent a year, and XIII and Venture XIV (2012) will split the 3 billion-dollars generated from the 19 billion-dollar WhatsApp exit, the report added.
The top ten who have made the Midas List for 2014 are:
1. Jim Goetz
2. Marc Andreesen
3. Peter Fenton
4. Peter Thiel
5. Jim Breyer
6. Doug Leone
