England legend Geoffrey Boycott had a memorable encounter with golf's current world number three Henrik Stenson in Dubai early last year when the England-Pakistan series was being played there, according to his fellow commentators Jonathan Agnew and Michael Vaughan.
The acid-tipped former England opener, who now commentates for the BBC's Test Match Special radio team, had found that the Swede, who was then No. 230 in the world, was his partner for a pro-celebrity golf day for the Dubai game.
According to News.com.au, Agnew and Vaughan revealed that as the two met, Stenson quipped that he would go on well with Boycott as the cricket legend was a 'fantastic cricketer' and also because he (Stenson) is No.230 in the world.
Following this, Boycott retorted back that had be been No.230 in world, he would not have gone around bandying about this fact to everyone he met.
The report mentioned that Stenson is now on golf's hottest roll at No.3 in the world and has won nearly 20 million dollars this year.
